A new report from the New York Times claims Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton turned down the opportunity to give the keynote address at the Human Rights Campaign gala this Saturday in Washington, D.C., so she could appear on "Saturday Night Live."

The newspaper writes Clinton's campaign would not confirm the "top-secret appearance" but reports the former Secretary of State is scheduled to meet out comic Kate McKinnon, who has portrayed Clinton on "SNL" for some time. The NYT goes on to say that the former First Lady had to turn down the chance to deliver the keynote address to the HRC, the nation's biggest LGBT rights group, so she could appear on the late night variety show.

Vice President Joe Biden, who is rumored to be considering a 2016 presidential campaign, is scheduled to deliver the HRC keynote address instead. Apple CEO Tim Cook will receive a Visibility Award, the organization announced Thursday.

Clinton will appear at an HRC grassroots leaders event, however, Towelroad points out.

It was reported Thursday Clinton took issue with an Obama reform that would change children's passports by replacing the words "mother" and "father" with "parent 1" and "parent 2," according to the then-Secretary of State's 2010 emails. She said she had a problem with the LGBT-inclusive language because of the reaction from the right.
