The fugitive terrorist who is currently being sought by authorities for taking part in the terror attacks in Paris last week reportedly visited a number of gay bars in Brussels, Belgium days before the incidents, according to reports.

After examining hours of CCTV footage taken from bars in central Brussels, authorities found Salah Abdeslam, 26, on the recording and according to the Mirror, he was a regular in the city's gay village called "Jacques Quarter." The British newspaper reports counter-terror agents have been questioning bar owners in the area after Abdeslam was spotted a number of times near the end of October in the gayborhood.

Authorities are unclear if he was scoping out a target for an attack or was there to steal identification documents, according to the Mirror.

"In these crowded bars people feel open and relaxed -- stealing wallets would not be a difficult thing to do," a source told the newspaper. "A lot of ID cards and driving licenses were stolen over the period he was there, but it may have been he wanted to launch a terror attack."

According to reports, Abdeslam is believed to have rented the car used to drive the Paris attackers to the city. Of all the attackers in the incident, which killed 137 people and wounded hundreds more, Abdeslam is presumed to be the only person still living.

The Mirror reports Abdeslam had a gambling problem and was known for having one night stands with women.

The Independent suggests Abdeslam may be hiding out from ISIS. It has also been reported that he contacted a friend on Nov. 17 and regrets his part in the attacks, admitting he had "gone too far."
