Watch: Reno LGBTQ Center's Windows Destroyed in Apparent Vandalism

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The windows of an LGBTQ community center in Reno, Nev. were smashed Tuesday evening in an act of apparent vandalism, organization officials told Reno's NBC- affiliate station KRNV.

Officials from OUR Center posted a video on the center's Facebook page, which showed damage done to the building. The clip shows broken windows and shards of glass on the sidewalk.

The person recording the video said that around 7 p.m. a person "apparently with a mask" shouted for people to get down and then threw rocks at the windows while people were inside the building.

"It just sort of goes to show that even in where we think it's such a progressive Reno, that we're getting so much better, that we're so accepting, that there's still people with so much hate in their hearts," the person recording the video can be heard saying.

Officials are asking locals to report any knowledge of the incident to Reno Police. KRNV reports police responded to the center to take a report.

Police told the news station that the suspect is a male who may have been white. He's been described as about 6-feet to 6-feet-4-inches tall, weighing about 160 to 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt under a dark hooded jacket.
