Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Apologizes for Eating at Chick-fil-A During Pride Month

Twitter's CEO is apologizing this week after coming under fire from users of the social media platform for writing that he ordered food from Chick-fil-A.
Jack Dorsey was hit with backlash when users were quick to call him out for eating at the fast-food restaurant during Pride Month. Chick-fil-A made headlines back in 2012 when its CEO Dan Cathay made comments about LGBTQ people and marriage equality and came under fire for donating millions of dollars to anti-LGBTQ organizations. At the time, news of Cathay's donations and comments caused outrage and protests.
On June 9, Dorsey took to Twitter and shared a screenshot of his iPhone, showing that he spent about $30 at Chick-fil-A and that he got a 10% discount on his order. He wrote "Boost @ChickfilA."
As USA Today notes, after several Twitter users called him out for eating there during Pride Month, the CEO apologized in a response to former CNN host Soledad O'Brien, who wrote: "This is an interesting company to boost during Pride Month."
"You're right. Completely forgot about their background," he responded.
