The 'Designing Women' Reboot is Headed to ABC

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The "Designing Women" reboot just got real.

Deadline is reporting a revival of the '90s sitcom is going to air on ABC. The series' original creator Linda Bloodworth Thompson is helming the new version of the comedy.

It was revealed last month that the show was getting a reboot.

It's been 25 years since the Emmy nominated "Designing Women" ended. The show ran on CBS from 1986 through 1993 and follows the lives for four women and one man working together at an interior design firm in Atlanta, Ga. The show originally starred Dixie Carter, Annie Potts, Jean Smart, Delta Burke, Meshach Taylor, Alice Ghostley, Julia Duffy, Jan Hooks and Judith Ivey.

Deadline writes the new version of the show "will follow the next generation of Sugarbakers with a crop of new, young, female designers at an Atlanta interior design firm, but still with the same razor-sharp dialogue and ability to cut through the political, cultural, and social factions that rarely agree on anything."

No word yet as to who will star in the redesigned "Designing Women" or when it will air on ABC.
