'Love Simon' Director Greg Berlanti to Helm Rock Hudson Biopic

The biopic about the late Hollywood hunk Rock Hudson has found its director.
Deadline is reporting Greg Berlanti, who directed "Love Simon" this year, is attached to direct the movie for Universal Pictures based on the book "All That Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson" by Mark Griffin. Berlanti will also co-produce the project.
The untitled film is currently looking for a screenwriter. No one has been cast to play the Oscar-nominated actor.
Hudson became a Hollywood heartthrob in the 50s but stayed in the closet due to pressure from industry execs. Hudson was diagnosed with HIV in 1984 and died in 1985 of AIDS-related complications. He was 59.
