Miguel Arrested in LA for Drunk Driving
R&B crooner Miguel, who broke through last year with his single "Adorn" and album "Kaleidoscope Dream," was arrested in L.A. for drunk driving, TMZ reports.
Miguel, 27, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. Thursday. According to TMZ, California Highway Patrol officers pulled over the singer's 2013 BMW X6 for speeding and tinted windows. During the stop, officers could smell alcohol on the "Do You...?" singer and had him undergo sobriety tests, which he failed to pass.
The musician took a breathalyzer and blew a .10 and .11, which is over the .08 legal limit in California. He was then arrested for a DUI and brought to a nearby station where he was booked and released within a few hours on a $5,000 bail.
TMZ reports he is now scheduled to appear in court in September.
Miguel, who saw success this year for his duet with Mariah Carey on the single "#Beautiful," has not issued any statements regarding the DUI.
