For filmmaker Ben Affleck’s Academy Award Winning "Argo" to have won 2012’s Best Picture Oscar couldn’t have been more a validation of his capable scope and talent both in front and behind the camera.

The film, which captures an undoubtedly "Hollywoodized" depiction of one of histories darkest moments, the Iran Hostage Crisis of 1979, was well received by critics across all markets. A winning cast including Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin and John Goodman, and palatable script weren’t the singular factors that made this an engaging cinematic achievement, but that it had the depth that it did was a surprise certainly in the least.

With this Blu-ray release of the "Declassified - Extended Edition" Affleck has taken the opportunity to address a couple of the issues that came up with the movie’s theatrical version - not to diminish the overall original work. There are some subtle historical accuracies that he was able to address by extending the film. Sure it still moves at a breakneck pace toward the climax, and the tension is almost comparable to a James Bond caper then an actual CIA extraction, but given a fuller resonance with this package, audiences can celebrate in an the movie’s overall sense of entertainment.

"Argo: Extended Edition" comes fully packed with additional "declassified" information including both the extended version and theatrical release. Some recreated movie memorabilia -- posters, maps and CIA ID -- enhance the "Argo" experience. Go behind the scenes with new full-length documentaries with the filmmakers and the man behind the real-life rescue mission. A beautifully crafted photo book will take fans on the set with Affleck and his crew as they realize the film up to the moments at the Oscars. This is an adventure worth reliving again at length.
