Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

While it's a cloudier sequel to the utterly charming original, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" still has a lot of inventiveness and heart. It's also pretty weird. The jokes and gags come fast and thick - so much so you start to miss them. The best part about the film is that once our favorite characters end up in their old hometown after Flint Lockwood's FLDSMDFR has began working again does the film truly take off. This is when we are witness to the amazing Foodimals (familiar animals make from food) and a sort of humorous monster movie begins.

While the plot is overstuffed, the film's message is a sweet and important one, so for the kiddies it's good. Adults will be amused by a few of the gags and the creativity of the creature designs, but it still falls short of the original. So for kids, they'll be dazzled by the colors alone. For adults, it's more of a useful babysitter.
