Director/producer team Martha Shane and Lana Wilson present "After Tiller," a documentary about third trimester abortions and the brave physicians who perform them.

Dr. George Tiller was murdered while attending church in 2009. He was one of only 5 doctors who performed late-term abortions (approximately 1% of all abortions performed) for the women who needed them. He fought against Anti-woman, "pro-life" "advocates" up until his death. This film follows the extremely important work of doctors LeRoy Carhart, Warren Hern, Susan Robinson, and Shelley Sella. The doctors reflect on Dr. Tiller’s legacy and his impact.

Trigger warning: The film covers the violent realities of the lives of abortion providers. Footage of potentially disturbing material is included. There are many emotional moments caught on camera. The doctors are painted in a compassionate light. The patients are painted as good people faced with impossible decisions. The cruel, ignorant actions of the protesters are unaltered and shown as they occurred during filming.

The DVD comes in a full color, heavy paper case decorated in photos from the movie. Special features include an interview with co-directors Martha Shane and Lana Wilson, "One of Four" an interview with Dr. Susan Robinson, an in-depth interview with Dr. George Tiller from Physicians for Reproductive Health, the Sundance Film Festival Q&A with the filmmakers and doctors, and new releases from Oscilloscope Laboratories. A downloadable educational guide for parties interested in using the film in their curriculum is included. It also offers subtitles for the hearing impaired in English.
