Though Lady Gaga and Katy Perry have been battling it out this month in the ongoing "pop war," the divas may have to face off against a new challenger: Britney Spears.

The performer and her team are gearing up to take on Mother Monster and Perry, and are prepping fans for Spears' next single, called "Work Bitch" - a track that may sample RuPaul's iconic "(Supermodel) You Better Work."

Last month, a countdown appeared on Spears' official site that read, "All eyes on me." The countdown ends on Monday, Sept. 16, the date when Spears will release "Work Bitch."

After rumors hit the Internet that the then untitled track was called "Work Bitch," Spears took to Twitter to confirm the fact.

"Gonna get my tan on in the desert in between shots on the #WorkBitch set today. It's HOT out here people!!!! #desert #heatwave," she wrote.

She also tweeted to images of herself in a bikini with the hashtags, "#WorkBitch" and "WorkBitchDay2." The images are presumably from the set of the music video for "Work Bitch."

"Work Bitch is going to premiere WORLDWIDE this Monday, Sept 16th at 6pm ET. You can listen on @iHeartRadio or your local radio station," Spears tweeted on Wednesday. "Work Bitch will be available on @iTunesMusic that night at 12:01am ET, Sept 17th... are u ready?! #YouBettaWorkB #1Week"

Though it's not been confirmed that "(Supermodel) You Better Work," will be sampled on Spear's upcoming single, RuPaul did tweet to her, "Werk Bitch! @BritneySpears" on Sept. 6.

Additionally, RyanSeacrest.com reports that Antony Preston, the producer who worked with will.i.am on Spears' upcoming record, answered fan questions on Twitter about the new song. He confirmed Spears co-wrote "Work Bitch." The website also notes that the song may sample RuPaul's jam.

In related Spears' news, the musician will be featured on the always controversial Miley Cyrus' new album, "BANGERZ," on a track called "SMS." Yes, SMS as in texting.

An alleged snippet of the track surfaced online. Check out that clip below, along with the 1992 music video for "Supermodel."
