Recess Music is a New Hampshire-based music publishing company specializing in songs for younger ears and hearts. Their latest release is titled, "Share!" and is part of their "Best Foot Forward Series," a collection of themed releases aimed at giving children an opportunity to learn life lessons through positive and entertaining melodies. Not preachy, the 15-song set is an engaging mix of folk rock, country and MOR pop that doesn’t pander to the listener, but is appropriate for families to "share" together.

The songs on this compilation include "Mi Casa, Su Casa," a bouncy, calypso number from the Minneapolis songwriter, Jack Pearson; the 60’s tinged "Green Beans Everywhere" from the Bay Area’s Charity and the JAM Band; kids’ music mainstay Ben Rudnick with his silly, "I Need a Hand;" the duo of Leeny and Tamara ("Taking Turns") from NYC; and the title track, courtesy of Renee and Jeremy from Los Angeles. Other material from each of the artists included here can be accessed from their respective websites.

Since the days of "Schoolhouse Rock" and "Free to Be You and Me," kids’ music has provided a small but consistent niche for families looking to bring popular music to their next generation without having to concern themselves with the questionable content that is all too prevalent over the commercial (and satellite) airwaves. Recess Music is committed to its mission of entertaining, encouraging and educating children and families "about the adventure of being human through music." Support their cause!
