"Gossip Girl" has raised the stakes for its fifth season, available on DVD. The show doesn’t just focus on the school drama of a bunch of young adults anymore. Instead, the drama has hit a global scale with royal weddings, inheritance fraud and Page Six style gossip.

The show has reached its 100th episode milestone. The show still brings shocking moments, on-again-off-again relationships and fashions fitting the runways of Paris and Vogue magazine. The fifth season is no different. Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) must choose between Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Prince Louis Grimaldi (Hugo Becker). Serena (Blake Lively) is still finding herself, so she tries her hat at Hollywood, journalism and even possibly the mantle of Gossip Girl.

The DVD set includes some great bonus features. There’s a 100th episode retrospective that interviews the cast about the five-year experience. It talks about how the characters have grown, people’s favorite scenes and how the show has become iconic. There is also the special featurette, "5 Years of Iconic Style," that focuses on the fashion of the show. It includes interviews with style bloggers and with costume designer Eric Daman. It discusses the evolution of each character’s style and the effect of the show on fashion in general. There are also unaired scenes and a gag reel of funny moments behind the scenes.

"Gossip Girl" has given so much to television. It’s changed the way young people are portrayed on television, influenced fashion, and shortcomings in storytelling aside, has managed to keep a fan base for five years.
