Elvira’s Movie Macabre: Bloody Madness
That buxom brunette bimbo known as Elvira is back with "Elvira’s Movie Macabre: Bloody Madness", a collection of four almost unwatchable low-budget horror films. The Mistress of the Dark has lost none of her bite and wit (or cleavage) in her return to form that made her famous back with the original Movie Macabre in 1981.
In a very "Mystery Science 3000" sort of way, Elvira’s Movie Macabre features the voluptuous female ripping apart the worst horror movies ever. After she campily introduces each horrid horror flick with her usual shtick, our hostess Elvira pops in and out of the film with witty commentary featuring such blunt statements as "this film blows!"
The DVD features the following film "classics":
"Bucket of Blood": A Roger Corman film about a man who kills people and turns them into sculptures. Meanwhile, Elvira teaches the audience a thing or two about art.
"The Killer Shrews": Just like its title suggests, a pack of oversized shrews attack a small town. While the film is being aired, Elvira has a rat problem in the studio to deal with.
"Manos: The Hands of Fate": Deemed one of the worst films of all time, I think the plot was about devil worshippers...Elvira laughs at the awful dialogue and even worse production values.
"Don’t Look in the Basement": A cult film about an insane asylum features Elvira telling the audience how to survive a horror movie.
Special features on the DVD are scarce and uninspired. A 5-minute ’behind the scenes’ doesn’t even feature Elvira. Also included are promotional videos for the show.
