New Year’s Cocktails in Honor of the Disco Queen
Music legend and disco icon Donna Summers, who will always be remembered for hits such as "Love to Love You Baby," "She Works Hard for the Money," and "On the Radio," was born on New Year’s Eve 1948.
In honor of the disco icon (and a new year), we suggest the following cocktails to toast to the New Year while dancing the night away.
Ring in 2013 with the "Queen of Disco" and Portón, the new mixable spirit distilled from grapes, which brings new flavor and variety to classic cocktails.
• 4 parts Portón pisco
• 2 1/2 parts limoncello
• 2 parts rose syrup (homemade, see instructions below)
• 4 parts lychee juice
• Top off with sparkling water
To make the rose petal syrup, soak the petals in simple syrup.
After the rose petals have soaked, you must heat them up a bit to help remove the strong odors and bring out the flavor.
Combine all ingredients and fill with sparkling water.
Garnish with an edible rose petal.
