The SummerStage Shows its PRIDE
New York City It would feel like this season’s PRIDE events are turning up the volume to the maximum! With every major city across the country making sure that the president’s recent June as "Pride Month" proclamation is properly heard and recognized. The city that rarely does anything small is once again leading the charge when Central Park’s SummerStage in the heart of Manhattan proudly presents "Club Classics Live!"
Rallying the cry for fans of the outdoor music venue everywhere, on Saturday, June 28 beginning at 3 p.m. in Central Park’s Rumsey Playing field, all those who enjoy a summer street party celebrating disco, funk, soul and house classics will be treated to an unparalleled concert experience and line-up that is unmatched.
The event’s premiere DJ André Collins will be providing the hits, playing the soundtrack of the ages that include the icons Sylvester, Donna Summer, Dan Hartman and more. You can also anticipate Collins to remix some of his audience’s favorite hits, after all, it wouldn’t be "club classics live!" without some of the 80’s and 90’s hottest house music.
This year’s concert will also feature incredible acts from drag legend Kevin Aviance, the UK’s own hit-maker Sam Sparro, the dance-diva Ultra Naté celebrating an illustrious 25-year career and singing her biggest hits! Also included on the bill, making very special PRIDE appearances, are the original lead vocalists of the R&B/funk band Chic - Alfa Anderson, Luci Martin and Norma Jean Wright reuniting to continue their music history-making legacy.
All this happens under the summer sun in one of the most revered venues of the most exciting weekend in the city of New York.
