Broadway superstar Kristin Chenoweth treated her audience this past Sunday at a New Jersey concert to a surprise when she was joined on stage by composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz. He accompanied her for the debut of the song "Caviar Dreams," which is part of Schwartz's score for the upcoming musical "The Queen of Versailles."

The new musical is set to start its pre-Broadway run at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre from Tuesday, July 16 through Sunday, August 18. For more information, follow this link.

The new musical is based on the 2012 documentary "The Queen of Versailles" by Lauren Greenfield that follows the lives of Jackie and David Siegel, wealthy resort owners building their own spectacular residence (called Versailles) and the crisis they face when the US economy hits a bump and their business declines. 10 years later, Siegel starred in the six-episode reality series "Queen of Versailles Reigns Again" on the Discovery Channel, which is available to watch on Max.

Chenoweth plays Jackie Siegel, the former winner of the Miss Florida Beauty Contest (which she now owns) who went on to marry Westgate Resorts owner David Siegel, with whom she planned their palatial new home, which remains incomplete to this day (though construction has resumed). Expected to be valued at over $100 million, the project will be the fourth most expensive house in the United States. According to the Zillow Blog, the Windermere, Florida structure, is "reported to be America's 'largest single family home under one roof.' The palace-like estate, architecturally inspired by the royal residence of Louis XIV, is situated on a 10-acre peninsula along the shoreline of Lake Butler."

In addition to Schwartz's score, "The Queen of Versailles" has a book by Lindsey Ferrentino ("Ugly Lies the Bone," "Amy and the Orphans") with direction by Tony Award-winner Michael Arden ("Parade," "Once on This Island"). Joining Ms. Chenoweth for the Boston engagement are Academy Award-winning actor F. Murray Abraham as David Siegel, "Here Lies Love's" Melody Butiu as Sofia Flores, and "Kimberly Akimbo's" Nina White as Victoria Siegel.

Chenoweth famously worked with Schwartz on the mega-hit "Wicked" where she played Glinda when the show debuted in 2004.
