Out Swimmer Dan Jervis Is Going to the Paris 2024 Olympics

Out swimmer Dan Jervis is officially going to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
As reported by Outsports, Jervis will join Team GB once again at the Olympics after his 1500m freestyle victory at the British Swimming Championships in London. Jervis' family and partner were reportedly in the audience as he immediately celebrated the moment in the water.
"I was probably the most nervous I've ever been," said Jervis in a post-game interview. "If I'm honest, this right now is probably the best moment of my swimming career. I'm very fortunate, I've got an amazing support network – I've got my family, my friends, I've got my partner here.
Jervis, who came out publicly as gay in June 2022, finished with a time of 14:47.94 on Thursday night.
Jervis added, "What a moment. I'm just so happy."
Jervis has won the British 1500m title sixth consecutive times, with bronze and silver medals from the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. He had to withdraw from the Birmingham 2022 game.
A professional swimmer at a young age, Jervis admits that he is not the young man he used to be.
"The last few months I've really found training hard. It's been tough," he said. "I'm 27, I'm not 18 years old anymore. Training sessions hurt me."
But he managed to pull through with the help of a great training team.
"I would not be standing here if it weren't for my coach Adam Baker, so thank you Adam and all the coaches in Swansea, and my team," said Jervis.
Look for Jervis in July at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
