John Cena is showing his true colors, and he is an LGBTQ+ advocate through and through.

The WWE wrestler and actor sat down for an interview on Dax Shepard's podcast "Armchair Expert," and he opened up about supporting his gay brother, protecting him from bullies, and growing up in Massachusetts.

Cena described his brother Stephen as an "introvert" and "true nerd," and discussed his brother's challenges growing up gay in the 1980s. At one point, Cena said he had to physically stand up for his brother, and even lose a few fights.

About being inclined to protect his brother, Cena said it all started for him around 10 years old.

"We were close by default," he said. "I took on the role of, 'If you say something to the younger brothers, I'm going to throw myself in harm's way'."

Cena also delved into what motivated him to get to the gym, the evolution of his career, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and his work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
