Gorgeous Grays: Brioni Spring/Summer 2014
The Brioni Spring/Summer 2014 collection seizes on the hidden and unexpected traits of Rome’s artistic heritage, celebrating the allure of the Italian cinema of the 1950s - a cinema symbolized by the unmistakable style of Luchino Visconti and Helmut Berger.
The arcaded courtyard of the Brera district’s Accademia delle Belle Arti, (re)envisaged as a fine art gallery, was the ideal setting for the presentation of spring/summer 2014.
Elegant and sophisticated, the collection reclaims Brioni’s sartorial heritage, reinterpreting it with a contemporary slant. Silhouettes are marked by angular lines. Textiles are enriched by graphic designs usually applied to neckties, and re-worked to enhance both knits and macs. All evokes anew the style of historic Brioni.
Accessories complete the looks: travel and tote bags in deer skin, calf and braided suede. Shoes in calfskin, suede and crocodile, in hues of night blue, grey and burgundy. Collar-studs, tie clips, and cuff links in yellow gold - in continued collaboration with Fredrikson Stallard - add hints of light to Brioni’s shirts.
