Watch: Caitlyn Jenner Claims She's Working with Trump Admin on LGBT Issues

Friday Jul 14, 2017

Caitlyn Jenner stopped by the daytime talkshow "The View" recently, claiming that she's secretly working "behind the scenes" with the Trump administration on a number of LGBT issues.

"View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg mentioned a video of Jenner from earlier this year, where the reality star speaks out against President Donald Trump's decision to roll back Obama-era protections for transgender students. In the clip, Jenner also asks Trump to meet so they can discuss problems in the trans community.

Jenner explains, however, that Trump has not taken her up on her offer, saying, "...he's kind of been busy lately."

"Honestly... it was harder coming out as a Republican than it was coming out as trans," Jenner added. "I do a lot of political things, but most - 80-90 percent of it - is behind the scenes. I think I really get a lot more accomplished that way."

"I'm glad I'm in the position that I'm in, because I got a good in with the Republican Party," the Olympian went on to say. "As we know, the Democrats do a much better job when it comes to LGBT issues. And I know that, I'm not stupid, but the Republicans need help and I'm there to help them."

Jenner said she's working with members of the Trump administration but that she can't "talk about it." But she did share she's meeting with members of the Department of Education and had a meeting at the United Nations this week with U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley to discuss LGBT issues around the world.
