Sony Pictures dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming "Spider-Man: Far from Home," the sequel to the popular 2017 blockbuster "Spider-Man: Homecoming." The new film features Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck / Mysterio.

Gyllenhaal doesn't appear until the end of the clip but the rest of the trailer follows young Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland) who "decides to join his best friends Ned (Jacob Batalon), MJ (Zendaya), and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter's plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!"

"Far From Home" will hit theaters on July 5 — about three months after "Avengers: Endgame," which will be released on April 26.

Gyllenhaal also appeared in the trailer for "Velvet Buzzsaw," a new film hitting Netflix on February 1.
