Two Fire Island Events Benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute

Wednesday Aug 3, 2016

On Saturday, August 6, Hetrick-Martin Institute, the nation's oldest and largest non-profit, multi-service agency dedicated to serving LGBTQ youth, presents "Summer Camp," their Fire Island Pines annual signature event benefit. The party welcomes 150 leaders in fashion, entertainment, media, politics, legal and business sectors.

The afternoon pool party will be held at the beautiful Madison Hotel in Fire Island Pines. All of the money raised from Summer Camp will be used to ensure that those HMI youth members returning to school in September will have back-to-school supplies, clothing and continued access to our programs, services and hot meals.
The event will be held from 3-6 p.m. at The Madison, 22 Atlantic Walk, Fire Island Pines, NY. For information or to register, visit

At the end of the summer, head back to Fire Island for The Pinesfest on Labor Day Weekend. From September 3-5, enjoy a lineup of parties including Saturday's The Power of Community party, featuring the Labor Day Drag Party, Carzibiza, Ron Carroll, Vito Fun, Diego Harispe and Dragonfly. Sunday's Muscle Beach Party welcomes The Cube Guys, Felipe Lira, the Mr. Fire Island Contest, Eric Abobo, and Barry's Beach Bootcamp. Finish up the weekend with Monday's Disco Revolution, featuring Jason Kendig, Occupy the Disco, Robbie Leslie and Midnight Magic.

"Join us to celebrate the Pines and the broader LGBTQ community! Witness a showcase of talent reflecting the Power of Community," write organizers.

The Pinesfest Foundation is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to carry on a legacy of Fire Island Pines. The foundation raises awareness about Fire Island Pines and inspires meaningful change through strategic initiatives and investments in grassroots LGBTQ organizations. Come enjoy a 3-day adventure of daily beach fitness classes, our incredible talent lineup, beach games and more! All events benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute.
