Days after Fox fired Bryan Singer from directing the upcoming Queen/Freddie Mercury biopic, it was announced that the project has landed a new filmmaker to helm the film.

Fox hired Dexter Fletcher to direct "Bohemian Rhapsody" and replace Singer, Variety reports.

Production in London will resume next week.

Fletcher is best known for directing "Eddie the Eagle" and "Wild Bill." He also appeared as an actor in "Kick-Ass" and "Stardust."

Singer was fired last week after reports surfaced he was not showing up to set and having issues with the movie's lead Rami Malek, who is playing Queen front man Freddie Mercury. It was also reported Malek complained on behalf of the cast about Singer's unprofessionalism.

Fox did not say why they booted Singer, however.

After being let go by Fox, Singer fired back, saying the company refused to give him time off to deal with health issues of one of his parents.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" is still scheduled to be related on December 25, 2018. Sources told Variety there are still two more weeks of shooting.
