Welcome to EDGE's New Music Friday, our guide to the best singles and albums released every week! This week, Kacey Musgraves releases her "Golden Hour" follow up "star-crossed," Troye Sivan and Lana Del Rey share new singles, and much more!

Kacey Musgraves - "star-crossed"

Kacey Musgraves returns with her anticipated "Golden Hour" follow up, "star-crossed", a deeply personal album inspired by her recent breakup and divorce. Musgraves' 15-track LP traces the ups and (mostly) the downs of her relationship with her ex. Still, the album finds the country star and Grammy Award winner pushing herself sonically, like on the track "there is a light" — full of flutes and strings — while still penning some of her best lyrics to date, like on the standout track "breadwinner" .

Saint Etienne - "I've Been Trying to Tell You"

The English band Saint Etienne return with their first new album in three years. "I've Been Trying to Tell You" is a sleek album that finds the group going back to the sample-based sound of their earlier career. During that time, they reached back to the songs from their youth, turning 60s and 70s pop songs into 90s alternative dance bops. Now the group is dabbling in the kind of music during the height of their fame, sampling tracks from the 90s and early 2000s, like Samantha Mumba, Natalie Imbruglia, and more.

Aaliyah - "Aaliyah"

Aaliyah's self-titled album is finally on streaming services for the first time. Though it's 20 years old, the late R&B icon's music has not aged, sounding as fresh and exciting as it did in 2001. Released just a month before she tragically died, many consider her self-titled LP to be her best, thanks to songs like "Rock the Boat", "More Than a Woman", and "We Need a Resolution".

Troye Sivan - "Angel Baby"

Troye Sivan is sharing a new single called "Angel Baby", which he calls his "doting adoring power bottom gay ballad." The ballad features minimal production, allowing for Sivan's lovely voice to guide the song. "You came out the blue on a rainy night, no lie / I tell you how I almost died, while you're bringing me back to life," he sings.

Lana Del Rey - "Arcadia"

Lana Del Rey released her new song "Arcadia" this week, along with its accompanying music video (one of her best to date) and an announcement that her second album of 2021 will be here in October. "Arcadia", which is the fourth song shared from the upcoming "Blue Banisters" is a classic LDR track — a mid-tempo ballad where she's in full Americana mode. "My chest, the Sierra Madre / My hips, every high and byway / That you trace with your fingertips like a Toyota / Run your hands over me like a Land Rover."

Chlöe - "Have Mercy"

Chlöe Bailey had a standout 2020 along with her sister Halle Bailey, who released their excellent sophomore album "Ungodly Hour" under Chlöe X Halle. And Chlöe's debut solo offering is just as good. It's a sexy hip-hop and R&B infused bop that exudes confidence.

BLACKPINK's LISA is the latest of the incredibly popular K-pop group to go solo. Her single "LALISA" doesn't stray too far from the BLACKPINK sound, melding different song structures and sounds into a cohesive tune. Fans of BLACKPINK shouldn't be disappointed with LISA's first solo song.
