Watch: Is Postmates' 'Bottom-Friendly' Pride Menu A Hit?
Bottoms deserve to eat, drink, and be merry during Pride Month just as much as the rest of us, and Postmates wants to make it happen by unveiling a new "bottom-friendly" menu called Eat With Pride.
As reported by Mashable, Postmates partnered with an anal surgeon and sexual health wellness expert to steer bottoms to the right foods to keep them ready for fun during Pride Month.
Featured in the commercial, Dr. Evan Goldstein was the featured expert and recommends foods with soluble fiber and protein, such as white rice, citrus, and fish, as these digest easily and slowly.
The TV spot, which has been making its rounds on social media, is narrated by comedian Rob Anderson.
"If you're a top, it seems like you can eat whatever you want," Anderson said. "But if you're a bottom, you're expected to starve? Not this Pride!"
Driving the sexual innuendo home, tops are portrayed as eggplants and bottoms as peaches.
Foods that bottoms should avoid the day before sex include grains, cauliflower, and legumes, which contain insoluble fiber. Insoluble foods can't dissolve in water, making them harder to flush out your system.
The Eat With Pride video was the brainchild of a team of LGBTQ employees, per Postmates. A portion of proceeds from the menu will be donated to mutual aid collective The Okra Project, which supports Black trans people.
In a press statement, Postmates said, "We know that not every meal is ideal if you plan on getting frisky soon after eating, and while heterosexual sex education is prevalent, there's not a lot of conversation out there about the best foods to eat before you engage in anal sex.
"That's why Postmates is partnering with founder of Future Method/Bespoke Surgical, anal surgeon and sexual health & wellness expert Dr. Evan Goldstein, and gay comedian Rob Anderson, to have a frank, but fun, discussion on the do's and don't's of prepping for anal play, regardless of your sexual orientation, sex or gender."
It didn't take long before the ad made the rounds on Gay Twitter.
Postmates's bottom-friendly menu is available only in New York and Los Angeles. What will you be ordering?
