Ben Platt Found a 'Partner That I Really Love' in Boyfriend Noah Galvin
Ben Platt has found his chosen person, and now he is opening up about it in the sweetest way.
As reported by People, the "Dear Evan Hansen" star says that he has fond a partner "that I really love" in boyfriend Noah Galvin.
Galvin, Platt says, helped him deal with "fear and apprehension" of reprising his "Dear Evan Hansen" theater role on the big screen.
Platt told Out Magazine that Galvin "has a really unique ability to help me to ... be present where I am and to make the life that's happening day to day too wonderful to not want to be on the ground for it."
"While the couple have been friends for years, it took living together during the pandemic for their relationship to turn romantic," People reports. "Platt explained how he and Galvin got together on The Kelly Clarkson Show in June, telling the host, 'We were friends for five years and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to really give it a shot.'"
Platt added, "We kind of skated around it for a long time."
When COVID-19 hit, their relationship reportedly went from "zero to 60." Platt said they started "living together with my parents in our childhood home and seeing each other all the time, but it ended up being a beautiful time," and things blossomed from there.
"Being inside, being in the same room for like a year... He made it feel really magical and special," said Platt about Galvin.
Because both actors played Evan Hansen in separate productions, the fact that they are dating now is even more sweet.
Galvin once joked about the coincidence, "I know, it's so g---- incestuous. But it makes sense, like, we all went through the war together. We all feel very connected."
