Miley Cyrus Says She Identifies as Pansexual

Miley is just being Miley.

In a new lengthy interview with Variety, Miley Cyrus opened up about her sexuality, saying she identifies as pansexual and that she doesn't "feel straight and I don't feel gay."

The pop star said her first relationship was with another female.

"I went to the LGBTQ center here in L.A., and I started hearing these stories," she told Variety. "I saw one human in particular who didn't identify as male or female. Looking at them, they were both: beautiful and sexy and tough but vulnerable and feminine but masculine. And I related to that person more than I related to anyone in my life."

Cyrus, 23, said that was the moment when she realized she identifies as pansexual, which is defined as "not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity."

"I always hated the word 'bisexual,' because that's even putting me in a box," the "Wrecking Ball" singer told Variety. "I don't ever think about someone being a boy or someone being a girl.

"My eyes started opening in the fifth or sixth grade," she added. "My first relationship in my life was with a chick."

Page Six notes Cyrus is currently dating her on-again-off-again boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Earlier this year, she was seen wearing what looked like to be an engagement ring.

The singer is currently a judge on "The Voice" and stars in Woody Allen's Amazon series "Crisis in Six Scenes."
