After Coming Out 'Bachelor' Star Colton Underwood to Film Netflix Reality Series, Gus Kenworthy to be his 'Guide'

Wednesday April 14, 2021

After he came out as gay Wednesday morning, Variety is reporting "Bachelor" star Colton Underwood has a reality show in the works at Netflix, which will be about him "living his life publicly as a gay man." Additionally, out Olympic champ Gus Kenworthy will be apart of the show as "a guide, of sorts."

Variety goes on to report the show is currently in production and that it will have multiple episodes. The streamer declined to comment about the project, however.

News of the show comes just hours after Underwood, 28, appeared on "Good Morning America" where he publicly came out as gay.

"I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time," he said. "And I'm gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. And the next step in all of this was sort of letting people know."

Underwood, who attempted a career in the NFL before becoming the star of "The Bachelor" Season 23, said that he had to be honest with himself after 2020, a year he says where people look at themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they've been running from or what they've been putting off in their lives."
