April Fools' Day was pretty much canceled this year due to the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. But rapper Lil Was X still managed to pull a prank on his fans.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the "Old Town Road" hitmaker teased that he's actually straight. Last summer, he made headlines when he came out as gay on the last day of Pride Month.

But Lil Nas X claimed in his tweet from this week that it was a long con and he's actually straight.

"I was never gay. I said it to build up fuel for April Fools day. Ha got u guys," he tweeted in the wee hours of the playful holiday," he wrote.

Rapper Ka5sh responded: "Coming out as straight is so brave."

"It's hard but somebody has to take a stand and lead the others straight people afraid to be themselves," he added.

Not long after those tweets Lil Nas X, who has the longest-running No. 1 song in America ever, proclaimed: "Ok I'm gay again."

Out pop singer Troye Sivan replied: "Welcome back."
