Brazilian Rugby Player Gets Marriage Proposal From Her Girlfriend

A Brazilian rugby sevens player got a surprise on Monday when her longtime girlfriend proposed marriage to her on the pitch, shortly after Brazil's final match of the Olympics.

Outsports reports that Isadora Cerullo was finishing up the Women's Gold Medal Rugby Sevens match between Australia and New Zealand on Day 3 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at the Deodoro Stadium when her girlfriend Marjorie Enya popped the question.

"As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special. I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it. She is the love of my life," Enya told the BBC.

Brazil didn't do so well in the tournament, being outscored 91-3 in three matches, only winning Japan 33-5 to take ninth place in the tournament. But the Olympic rugger is still taking home the gold -- the gold band, that is, when she and her partner return to Sao Paulo to get wed.

"The Olympic Games can look like closure but, for me, it's starting a new life with someone," added Enya. "I wanted to show people that love wins."
