The son of the mayor of Denver was caught on camera using a gay slur towards a police officer in Aurora, Colo. when pulled over during a traffic stop, ABC7 Denver reports.

The incident was caught on a police body camera and the footage leaked to the local news station. In the clip, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock's son, Jordan Hancock, can be heard touting his father's position before hurling the slur.

"My dad's the mayor, you fucking faggot," Jordan Hancock, 22, says in the clip.

"Of Denver? Well you're in Aurora," the officer responds.

"Guess what, I'm about to get you fired you fucking bitch," Jordan Hancock later says.

The clip ends with Jordan Hancock driving away.

ABC7 Denver posted the 20-second clip to its Facebook page where it's earned over 217,000 views.

The news station says it received the footage via an anonymous source. The news station asked authorities for the full video but was denied. After learning that ABC7 Denver had footage of the incident, the Aurora Police Department notified Denver's mayor as a "courtesy."

The department also issued a statement about not releasing the full clip on Facebook.

Jordan Hancock received a traffic ticket on March 23, 2018 around 8 a.m. that says he was driving 65 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone. The officer noted in the ticket, "Attitude very poor-see video."

ABC7 Denver reports Jordan Hancock made a mandatory court appearance Monday morning, agreeing to pay the $250 fine. He also explained he was driving over the speed limit because he was running late. The news station attempted to him why he used a gay slur during the pull over but Jordan Hancock did not respond to questions.

Mayor Michael Hancock took to Twitter Tuesday to address his son's behavior, saying Jordan Hancock apologized to the officer and that his actions are "inexcusable."
