TooD Beauty Unveils Nail Polish Honoring LGBTQIA+ Activists
In a limited-edition nail polish collaboration with Jaé Joseph in honor of Pride Month, TooD has unveiled a brand-new nail polish collection named after LGBTQIA+ activists, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Human Rights Campaign.
"TooD is committed to amplifying the voices and sharing the faces of people who are committed to creating a safer and more inclusive world for all," said founder Shari Siadat via a press release. "Whenever we partner with anyone — a person, brand, or retailer — the goal is always to push that agenda forward paired with high-performing products that are at the forefront of clean and color."
The eight new shades are each named after activists who have made waves in the community and around the world, both through their actions and their words. The hope is that people can experience the bold new colors of the line while learning about real-life heroes who are out making a difference in the world.
"When it was time to name the shades, I was overwhelmed by the work of these eight activists who span all ages, genders, beliefs, visibility... I wanted to highlight who they are and what they do in the spirit of Pride and as examples of individuals who evoke the pursuit of freedom," said Siadat.
In the spirit of continuing TooD Beauty's commitment to the earth, the eight-shade range is entirely free of the top 11 toxic ingredients found in most nail polishes. In addition — like all of their products — they're vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic.
"We wanted to evoke unique emotions and make bold statements," said Jaé Joseph via a press release. "Depending on which colors it's paired with, it can create a drastically different mood giving you a range to play and experiment with."
"Jae and I both built and launched a beauty business during the pandemic," added Siadat. "We believe the future is in creative collaborations and growing community. It made perfect sense for us to team up on this project, as we are dedicated to the LGBTQIA+ community, diverse representation in the media, and artistic self-expression."
Ten percent of all proceeds from sales will do directly to the Human Rights Campaign, an organization that has spent over four decades ensuring LGBTQ+ people—particularly those who are trans, people of color, or HIV+--are treated as full and equal citizens across our country and around the world.
Available exclusively at TooDBeauty.com, TooD x Jaé Joseph Nail Polish retails for $13 per polish or four for $39.
