Los Cabos may comprise two waterfront cities with a 20-mile stretch of hotels and resorts between them, but there's only one truly swimmable, natural beach among these sister cities. Medano Beach, in Cabo San Lucas, is protected from the powerful Pacific by Cabo's towering Land's End rock formations, including the world-famous El Arco (the arch) that you've seen in every Cabo ad for decades, and this is prime real estate for the luckiest luxury resorts in the region.

There aren't often newcomers to this coveted bit of coast, but Corazón Cabo Resort & Spa is a rare exception. Thanks to a $100 million investment into the clever reimagining of discreet beachfront villas and some towering new builds that now boast a couple of Cabo records, Medano's new resort is now Cabo's new it destination. Here's what you'll find when you check in.

Towering Achievement

Corazón Cabo's new hotel tower adds an additional 187 rooms and 17 suites to the resort, bringing the total to 310 luxury accommodations, and most of these come with spacious, furnished balconies, many of which include hot tubs. Check in to one of these, and you'll find modern furniture and art from local manufacturers and artists subtly enhancing the spectacular views offered by floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. Below, the airy lobby spills out toward a cascade of pools and restaurants leading down to the resort's private beach club. While you should certainly at least dip your toes in this most idyllic of Cabo's beaches, you'll also find four pools on the property, including two infinity pools and an adults-only oasis (cabanas available at the main pool).

Whether you're in need of some solo pampering or a special treat for two, a visit to Sparitual is highly recommended. From facials and wraps to reflexology and hot stone massages, there's something for everyone, but Sparitual specializes in romantic couples rituals like the 2-hour Subconscious Relaxation that begins with a decadent four-hand massage (per person) and limb exfoliation followed by a storybook hot tub bubble bath with wine and chocolates.

Celebrate Above It All

Crowning the resort is Rooftop 360, where you could easily spend an entire day high above Cabo with panoramic views of your choice. Here, you'll find one of the property's two infinity pools, this one offering 9th-floor views of the ocean and beloved rock formations (you won't find a better spot for brunch along this coast). The full bar fuels lunch service, sunset cocktails, dinner, and evening revelry, keeping vacation vibes flowing from morning through night. Pro Tip: Pay attention to Rooftop 360s signature offerings throughout the day, like bottomless mimosas and margaritas from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and champagne and oyster pairings from 1 - 5 p.m. There's never a bad time to hang out here. (You can also rent this swanky space for unforgettable weddings or other special events; it accommodates up to 450!)

Indulge In More Than Margaritas

Yes, it's Mexico and yes, margaritas are standard. You should certainly enjoy plenty if you're a fan of cocktails, but Corazón Cabo goes beyond the obvious with a couple of choice offerings that add some elevated variety to the Cabo experience. First, trade margs for mojitos with a visit to Draque Mojito Bar, one of six on property. Named for Sir Francis Drake, "El Draque" (the dragon) himself, the legendary rum cocktail is the specialty of the house here, but you'll find plenty of additional craft drinks on the menu, too. Speaking of craft, Corazón Cabo also plays host to the only microbrewery in all of Los Cabos, Baja Brewing Co. With its own rooftop terrace, the craft beer garden serves eight brews and a full menu of lunch and dinner options, but the beer pizzas (yes, the dough is actually made with beer) are the must-orders here.

Take Advantage of the Location

Flyboarding

Sure, there are enviable views all over this property thanks to Corazón Cabo's ideal location, but part of enjoying that location is leaving the property to experience everything surrounding it. You can start off close to "home" by renting kayaks or paddleboards to enjoy the gorgeous waters of Medano Bay, but the bold can take these activities to the extreme with a visit to Cabolectric. With a kiosk located at the entrance to Corazon's beach club, Cabolectric offers electric surfing (surfing on a board that hovers above the sea) and flyboarding, the hydroflying sport that propels you skyward from jets of water shooting out below your feet. Cabolectric is the only provider of these thrill-seeking specialties in Los Cabos, and they're right here at Corazón Cabo. For something a bit less adrenaline-inducing and more geared to elegance (and maybe some romance!), set sail on a dinner cruise aboard Animalón By the Sea, the floating restaurant of one Baja's most celebrated chefs, Javier Plascencia. The intimate ocean-to-table concept offers chef's tasting dinner sails, and is available for private charters by day, which can include both meals and leisure time to enjoy the sea. Animalón By the Sea docks at the Cabo San Lucas Marina, within easy walking distance from the resort, and here you'll find plenty of shopping, dining, and additional sailing opportunities. If you're looking for an afternoon of activity on land, though, check out an ATV adventure with Cactus Tours, or take to the skies with a helicopter ride over the arch for a view few else have experienced.
