Shawn Mendes is reaching out to controversial makeup/YouTube star James Charles after the pop star ended an Instagram live video this week when Charles began firing off comments.

According to the celebrity gossip Twitter account @PopAlarms, Mendes was talking with fans during an Instagram live video but shut down the chat when Charles showed up and commented, "can u jiggle me like that." The account also reports Mendes allegedly said he dislikes Charles over similar explicit comments, "that dude is ALWAYS commenting weird shit on my posts."

After the latest Instagram live session, the makeup artist took to Twitter to apologize to the "Lost in Japan" singer.

"My comments on friend's & boy's content have always been light hearted & in a joking manner," he wrote. "I've been supporting @shawnmendes since vine & am a fan like anyone else, & would never want to make anyone uncomfortable. Im upset, embarrassed, and sorry if he felt sexually harassed."

Mendes then sent Charles a direct message to clear things up.

"Hey James! Sorry about all this, I've never said I don't like you or that you make me uncomfortable," the singer wrote. "Your comment actually make me laugh and I love them! Hope you're all good xx."

Charles posted a screenshot of Mendes' message to his own Twitter, thanking him for "clearing everything up. Love u the most."
