Welcome to the first installment of EDGE's New Music Friday, our guide to the best singles and albums released every week!

Normani - "Wild Side" feat. Cardi B

This week brought a slew of new tracks, including the long-awaited return of Normani. The former Fifth Harmony member released her comeback single "Wild Side," her first single since her 2019 breakout hit "Motivation." And let's just say, it was worth the wait. "Wild Side" is a super sexy R&B jam and Cardi's verse sends the track over the top. (Megan Thee Stallion even praised, "Thot Girl Summer is here!")

Shakira - "Don't Wait Up"

Shakira is back! The international superstar shared "Don't Wait Up," the lead single from her upcoming album. It marks her first fully English single since 2016 and features production from Ian Kirkpatrick (Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, Selena Gomez). "Don't Wait Up" is a summer bop primed for the dance floor.

Caroline Polachek - "Bunny Is a Rider"

Singer Caroline Polachek's "Bunny Is a Rider" marks her first original song since her excellent album "Pang" dropped in 2019. After covering the Corrs' iconic '90s hit "Breathless," the former Chairlift member calls her new track "a summer jam about being unavailable." She added: "Bunny is slippery, impossible to get ahold of. Maybe it's a fantasy, maybe it's a bad attitude. But anyone can be bunny, at least for three minutes and seventeen seconds."

LANY - "up to me"

Los Angeles band LANY is offering another new song from their upcoming fourth album "gg bb xx." "up to me" is an upbeat bop that finds the act returning to their pop-rock roots after dropping their country-tinged 2020 album "mama's boy."

CHVRCHES - "Good Girls"

The Scottish pop band CHVRCHES shared another song from their upcoming album "Screen Violence." Following their single "He Said She Said" featuring the Cure's Robert Smith, "Good Girls" finds the band in their comfort zone, turning out an enjoyable synthy track.

Pop Smoke - "Faith"

The second posthumous album from rapper Pop Smoke, "Faith" features 20 new songs and a number of collaborations featuring Kanye West, Pusha T, Rick Ross, The-Dream, Dua Lipa, Pharrell, Kid Cudi, Quavo, and more. Smoke's LP follows the posthumous release of 2020's "Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon."

Clairo - "Sling"

Two long years after releasing her critically acclaimed debut album "Immunity," singer Clairo returns with her sophomore effort "Sling," co-produced by Jack Antonoff (Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Lorde). The intimate follow-up album features the minimal ballad "Blouse."
