Groundbreaking LGBTQIA+ Historical Exhibits Begin Nationwide Trek

Fearless Athletic Legends Diana Nyad and Billie Jean King. Award-Winning Actor/Singer Billy Porter. Trailblazing Politician Harvey Milk. Civil Rights Leader and First African American Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. Just 5 of the 13 courageous, awe-inspiring icons featured in Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library's critically-acclaimed "Standing on the Shoulders of Heroes" historical LGBTQIA+ exhibition.

The exhibit, curated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida along with its sister exhibit – "Never Silent" – will begin their nationwide trek in April 2024, with its first stop in the City of Brotherly Love.

"'Never Silent' pays homage to history; highlighting past and present examples that show how obstacles can only truly be overcome when we know what and who have come before,"said Robert Kesten, Executive Director, Stonewall National Museum, Archives and Library. "Starting in the history-rich city of Philadelphia, and bringing these two poignant exhibitions to major cities across America, is a tremendous privilege."
