Alice Eve, who played Carol Marcus in "Star Trek Into Darkness," is making headlines Tuesday after deleting an Instagram post about Bruce Jenner's transition, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Though the post is now gone from her account, the Hollywood Reporter reports the actress wrote:
"Nope. If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can't compete in the decathlon. You wouldn't be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn't given a chance. Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a 'woman' while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair. Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman."
Social media users attacked Eve, who also appeared in "Sex and the City 2," and accused her of transphobia. The actress then deleted the post and posted a picture of David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust.
"I am a supporter of anyone who wishes to explore their gender identity. Sometimes language doesn't express the idea of identity sufficiently, as in this case," she wrote. "I am also a believer in equal rights for all ... Whatever your race, colour or creed."
She also "for engaging with me on this subject, because I felt confused and now I feel enlightened and like I know what education I need to move forward. I appreciate the time and thought."
Kim Kardashina's ex-husband, basketball star Kris Humphries also came under fire after making a vague tweet about Jenner.
"Man, I'm glad I got out when I did. #Gottadoyou," he wrote.
The athlete later apologized for his comments.
"I have and always will support Bruce hence #Gottadoyou. Now recognize I was too vague and sincerely apologize for the way this came across," he tweeted, adding the hashtag "#FullySupportBruce."
