Pacha NYC to Close Doors After Ten Year Run

Partygoers in Gotham will have one less place to go dancing in 2016. After a ten-year run award-winning mega-club and EDM marathon house, Pacha will close its doors for good.

"The average nightclub lasts 18 months - we lasted 120," says Pacha New York's president, Eddie Dean."It's been a wild ride that none of us will ever forget. Our final parties will celebrate the different artists, styles, and scenes that have made Pacha great."

Pacha NYC opened in 2005 amid a citywide crackdown on nightlife as part of the "quality of life" crusade of former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Fueled by the crowd from its building's former tenant The Sound Factory, Pacha soon became "ground zero" for international clubbing in Manhattan.

A large degree of Pacha's longevity was due to its promoter Rob Fernandez, who suddenly passed in the summer of 2015. Under Fernandez, Pacha would expand its reach beyond the typical Saturday night reseller to include specialized themed parties, teen nights and major headliners.

Capping off a month of farewell parties set to take place throughout December will be a 72-hour marathon of classics on New Years Eve from legendary DJ producer Jonathan Peters.
