Ellen DeGeneres will return to her roots with a new stand-up special for Netflix, Variety reports.

"It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. Fifteen years," DeGeneres said in a statement. "And I'm writing it now, I can't wait. I'll keep you posted when and where I'm gonna shoot my Netflix special. I'm excited to do it; I'm excited for you to see it."

No release date was announced.

Her Netflix special will be her first since 2000 "Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning" for HBO, according to Variety. DeGeneres started in stand-up before launching an acting career then hosting her incredibly popular daytime talk show, which is entering its 15th season.

The announcement comes as Netflix amps up its stand-up production. "King of Queens" star Kevin James will have a special on the streaming service and Chris Rock will have two specials.

"30 Rock" and "SNL" alum Tracy Morgan recently released new stand-up specials. Other notable comedians who made specials for Netflix include Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle.
