Watch: Adorable Romantic Gay-Themed Animated Short 'In a Heartbeat' Goes Viral

On Monday, the gay romantic animated short film "In a Heartbeat" debuted on social media. And in less than 24 hours, the computer-generated short has garnered over 2.25 million views.

In the four-minute film by animators Beth David and Esteban Bravo, a closeted boy follows the object of his affection, while running the risk of being outed by his own heart as it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams.

The completed film got some much needed financial help from a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $14,000 to see it completed.

"This film is not only a culmination of our four years of education and hard work at the college, but also an expression of a subject that has not been explored in computer animation," said animators David and Bravo. "It's a film that deals with a real and personal topic in a very sweet and lighthearted way and we are so excited to be able to share it with you!"
