Despite Condemning Trans Military Ban, Caitlyn Jenner Shows Support for Trump
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
After President Donald Trump tweeted last week that transgender people will not be allowed to serve in the U.S. military in "any capacity," Caitlyn Jenner, who voted for him and is outspoken in her support, was quick to call him out on Twitter. Despite condemning the move, Jenner is apparently still in the president's corner.
TMZ reports Jenner was out Thursday, driving a sports car and wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat. The site also shared a photo of Jenner sporting Trump's cap.
Just last week, Jenner jumped on Twitter to call out the president after he announced the trans military ban. She re-tweeted a tweet Trump made in June 2016, where he said: "Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs."
"There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?" Jenner wrote in the message. She later added: "This AM, @POTUS attacked trans people fighting for our country. Every American should be outraged," and shared a link to a longer statement. Click here to read that.
Jenner has been an outspoken Republican since coming out as a trans women two years ago. She recently said that she's been working "behind the scenes" with members of the GOP and Trump administration on LGBT issues. She also recently said she is considering a political career.
