PopUps: 'Big Brother' Host Julie Chen Reacts to Omarosa Joining Celeb Edition

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Julie Chen isn't holding back on how she feels about former Trump administration staffer and reality star Omarosa Manigault joining the cast of the upcoming CBS reality show "Celebrity Big Brother."

Chen, who has hosted "Big Brother" since its debut in 2000, appeared on "Page Six TV" Monday and shared her thoughts about the show's star-studded new cast, which was announced Sunday night.

"It's a good thing the word 'brother' is between 'big' and 'house', so it's not from the White House to the Big House," she said. "We know Omarosa likes a microphone. She likes a camera. She has something to say."

Chen added she believes Manigault will talk about her time in the White House.

"After spending one year in the White House - and if you believe what you read in Page Six - I don't think it was the most pleasant exit when asked to resign..." she went on to say. "I do think she's going to speak her truth in the House."

Chen also appeared on CBS News to discuss the casting of Manigault.

"We know she likes a platform, a camera. She likes to be heard. And now she can be heard 24/7," "The Talk" co-host said. "I'm curious whether ["Real Housewives" star Brandi Glanville] and Omarosa are either going to be best friends or bitter enemies."

Serving as the director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, Manigault, who appeared on two seasons of "The Apprentice" which was hosted by President Donald Trump, was one of few African-American Trump supporters. Nevertheless, she officially exited the White House this month, but her departure came with controversy. In early December, Manigault reportedly resigned from her position, but the U.S. Secret Service did not deny reports that she was forcibly removed from the White House grounds. The agency also said it was not involved with her termination but was there to deactivate her access pass. But CNN White House correspondent April Ryan reported that White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly fired Manigault, who claims she resigned.

Along with Manigault, "Celebrity Big Brother" will also feature "Real Housewives" star Brandi Glanville, "RuPaul's Drag Race" judge Ross Matthews, "American Pie" actress Shannon Elizabeth, "The Cosby Show" star Keshia Knight Pulliam, Broadway's Marissa Jaret Winokur, singer Mark McGrath, Big Time Rush member James Maslow, Miss Colombia 2014 Ariadna Gutierrez, mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell and former NBA player Metta World Peace.
