Jacob Wohl: Young Trump Supporter Banned from Twitter for Trolling
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Jacob Wohl can be considered one of Donald Trump's youngest and most prolific trollers. The 21-year old Trump supporter has built quite a profile of wrongdoing that puts him right in the big leagues of better-known Trumpers (or ex-Trumpers).
"Wohl, a self-professed 'political and corporate intel consultant' and supporter of President Donald Trump, is dedicated to plying the malleable fringe of the electorate with dubious claims and disinformation schemes,"
The USA Today report prompted Twitter to ban "Wohl from its platform on Tuesday, alleging that Wohl broke the site's rules against creating fake accounts," .
"Wohl's ban came hours after he boasted in a USA Today interview about his plans to create fake accounts on Twitter and Facebook, which he said would be used to manipulate the 2020 election.
"'The account was suspended for multiple violations of the Twitter Rules, specifically creating and operating fake accounts,' a Twitter spokesperson told The Daily Beast."
Wohl is best known for releasing a statement in October that "the special counsel Robert Mueller's office released a statement saying they had learned of plans to pay off women to fabricate sexual misconduct accusations against Mueller. Wohl was quickly linked to the plans, which are being investigated by the FBI," .
"Carolyne Cass, the woman Wohl said accused Mueller of sexual assault, told USA Today that the whole thing was made up. She said Wohl pretended to be an Israeli-trained intelligence investigator who would help her with 'unscrupulous characters ripping me off,' and that she never signed the affidavit claiming Mueller sexually assaulted her.
" 'He completely lied to me,' Cass told USA Today.
"On Tuesday his Twitter account was 'suspended for multiple violations of the Twitter Rules, specifically creating and operating fake accounts,' a Twitter spokesperson told INSIDER."
Wohl's behavior isn't all that surprising, considering his father is Trump surrogate attorney David Wohl, who claims he "was on calls with the 2016 presidential candidate daily. David Wohl has regularly appeared on cable news networks to promote the president and his policies," reports the Daily Beast.
As for the younger Wohl, he "had already created several fake accounts before he was banned, according to a source familiar with Wohl's activities on Twitter. Wohl told USA Today that he intended to use the accounts to help Trump in the 2020 election, pushing Democratic primary voters to back weaker candidates who would be easier for Trump to defeat in the general election," writes the Daily Beast.
Wohl's Facebook and Instagram accounts remain on line.
He posted the following video claiming that the ban was a good thing for him.
