Reports: Michigan Man of God Arrested for Meth, Sexual Assault

Media reports say that a pastor in Travers City, Michigan, has been placed under arrest and charged with sex crimes and a drugs rap.
Pastor Christopher Cox was arraigned on two counts of sexual misconduct, reported the Associated Press, and on a single meth-related charge.
Click On Detroit reported that, according to police, Cox had given a 19-year-old man GHB, which, like rohypnol (or roofies) is known as a "date rape drug." The drug was reportedly administered after Cox had gotten the victim to come to his office with an offer of meth. The alleged victim said that Cox sexually assaulted him; subsequent medical attention verified the claim, according to authorities.
The AP item also noted that one of the alleged victims said he had been threatened with death if he were to go to the authorities.
Police executed a search warrant on Cox's residence and recovered GHB, meth, and paraphernalia including scales. In addition to two counts of sexual assault, Cox faces a count of meth possession with intent to distribute.
Cox is not the only purported man of God to hit the news for allegations of misconduct with other men. Earlier this year a notoriously anti-LGBTQ televangelist, Ernest Angley, was at the center of a story involving a suit over allegations of sexual abuse and a leaked audio recording in which Angley could be heard discussing a sexual encounter with another man.
In the tapes – reportedly made in 1996 – the now-97-year-old Angley can be heard talking with his then-assistant minister about an occasion on which Angley and another man were supposedly "naked in... bed" and "masturbating each other," with Angley ending up having to "wash the ejaculation off" his hands.
"That's not true," Angley reportedly retorts, "because I didn't ejaculate him. I didn't make him cum."
"Well, you was both naked in that bed," the assistant minister says.
Later, after the assistant minister reiterates that the televangelist was supposedly naked in bed with the other man, Angley reportedly responds, "Well, I didn't say I wasn't."
