Variety is reporting that actor Clive Owen has been tapped to play former President Bill Clinton in the upcoming third season of "American Crime Story," which will be titled "Impeachment."

The new season of the anthology series will follow Clinton's impeachment and the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

As previously reported, Owen joins Beanie Feldstein ("Booksmart," "Lady Bird), who will play Lewinsky, Sarah Paulson ("American Horror Story," "American Crime Story"), who will play Linda Tripp, and Annaleigh Ashford ("American Crime Story," "Late Night"). "Impeachment" will be based on Jeffrey Toobin's book "A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal that Nearly Brought Down a President." Toobin's book also served as the basis for the first season of "ACS," which focused on the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

Variety notes that the role of Hillary Clinton has yet to be cast.

Owen's last major TV role was starring in "The Knick," a 1900s hospital drama directed by Steven Soderbergh.
