'American Horror Story' Spinoff Series to Debut on Hulu
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
The recently announced "American Horror Story" spinoff series, called "American Horror Stories," will debut on Hulu instead of FX, where the anthology horror stories airs, Variety reports.
The new show, along with the sci-fi series "Y: The Last Man," will debut under the FX on Hulu hub on the streaming platform.
"Upon the completion of the Disney-21st Century Fox merger and Disney's acquisition of a controlling interest in Hulu, several shows originally set up at the cable network moved over to the streamer. Those include recent shows such as 'Devs' and 'Mrs. America,'" Variety writes.
An "AHS" spinoff was announced back in May by co-creator Ryan Murphy, who revealed on social media that "American Horror Stories" will feature one-hour-long episode that are self-contained – like "The Twilight Zone" or "Black Mirror." Murphy revealed the show in a post about a zoom call with the cast of "AHS," in which "we reminisced about the good times...when we will start filming the next season of the mothership...and other stuff I cannot print."
"AHS," FX's longest-running show, was renewed up through a 13th season. Season 10 was set to debut on the network this fall but the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the show until 2021.
