Watch: Fezco the Dog Abandoned by Owners for Humping Another Male Dog
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
A North Carolina couple left their dog at an animal shelter after they branded him gay for humping a male dog, Charlotte's WCCB News reports.
"Tonight a local or a local shelter dog rather is looking for a soft landing after being dumped by his owners because they say he's gay," newscaster Drew Bollea said in a report about the incident.
"You heard it all, right?" snarks newscaster Morgan Fogarty before explaining: "Stanly County Animal Shelter Facebook posts as the dog's owner surrendered him to the shelter after he humped another male dog, which dogs do."
"Mounting, thrusting (humping) and masturbation are normal behaviors exhibited by most dogs," according to theASPCA."Puppies often mount playmates, people and toys until they reach sexual maturity, while neutered or spayed male or female dogs may continue to mount because they enjoy doing so."
"In addition, dogs sometimes mount other animals 'to display social status or control," the ASPCA notes.
"Homosexual behavior has been noted in over 1,500 animals species, according toScientific American," reports the Daily Mail.
Fogarty continued: "Fezco the shelter says it's about four to five years old weighs about 50 pounds. They say he likes other people. He likes other animals. He's a good boy. The shelter is asking for local rescues to step up and take Fezco into foster before he is adopted. local county shelters across our area drew they do so much work with such little resources."
"That guy looks like he's gonna find a new home, real quick Fezco's adorable," adds Bollea.
Is it safe to assume that Fezco's homophobic owners named him for the character played by Angus Cloud on "Euphoria?" Cloud's drug-dealing character was one of the breakout stars of the recent season.
