Meeting trans activist and actor Laverne Cox was apparently on TikTok star Dylan Mulvany's 2023 vision, and for the honor to happen so quickly was understandingly so nerve-wrecking.

As reported by BuzzFeed, Mulvaney was on the red carpet at the The Grammys when she nervously got the chance to meet Cox and have a chat about her documenting her progress after facial feminization surgery.

Fans took notice of how nervous Mulvaney was and how much she talked over Cox. But others were more focused on the message Cox had to deliver about documenting your life.

"It's insane that you're documenting so much of your life," said Cox. "Make sure you keep things to yourself. Everything cannot be for the public. They love it, but everything cannot be for them."

Interrupting Cox, Mulvaney said, "I just did my FFS [facial feminization surgery]." To which Laverne responded with, "I know, girl, we know, it's all over TikTok."

Addressing the whole chaotic back and forth, Mulvaney said that what people saw wasn't the whole story.

"I got to meet my role model, Laverne Cox. I walked up to her and we had a lovely private conversation to begin with, and then I did ask her, 'Would you mind making a video with me?' She said, 'Of course,'" she shared. "You know when you get really nervous – for me, when I get really nervous, I just can't stop talking. I'm like, just, word vomit. Well, I totally disrupted her. I feel terrible. I really apologize for that. I watched it back. And here you got me, who's like, been doing this for less than a year."

She added, "Then, you've got the most evolved, amazing trans woman on the planet speaking her truth, and I'm talking over her. So, I apologize for that. One of my things on my vision board is to be a better listener – especially on trans topics."

She concluded with, "So, work in progress right here. But she gave me such great advice when it came to making sure that I'm keeping some things for myself."

See Mulvaney's explanation below as she says, "Again, wildly grateful for that moment. She looked beautiful."
