It's Pageant Season Time!

New Year's has passed and pageant season is just about to begin, so "GURLS," get on your heels and feathers and get ready to compete. Here is a list of pageants throughout the state that take place in January and February.
The inaugural Miss Tampa Pride 2016 will take place at The Honey Pot on Sunday, January 17. The red carpet rolls out at 6 p.m., with opening numbers at 7 p.m.! Hosted by 2015 Grand Marshal Kurt King and Miss Tampa Pride Emeritus Esme Russell, this promises to be one of GaYBOR's premier pageants in all of 2016. Tickets are $10 at the door and entry is $100, with prize packages offered for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, including $500, $300 and $100. For more information, please email [email protected].
The 13th annual Miss and Mr. Noche Latina Pageant (an official preliminary to Miss Florida F.I.) will take place on Wednesday, January 20th at Bailo Nightclub (7020 NW 72nd Ave, Miami). Doors open at 9 p.m. with the pageant starting at 10 p.m., starring the reigning court: Kalah Mendoza, Missy Meyakie LePaige and Monty St. James, along with Miss Florida F.I. 2015/16 Chasity Ross Boen and Miss Florida 2014/15 Brittany Moore, as well as the formers: Erika, Champagne, Taina, Amanda, Alyssa, Athena, Victoria, Sheena, Viva, Sasha, Alyson, Lady Charise, Vegas, Rolly, Francina, Yuri, Jose V, Raul, Lewis, AJ, Adrial, and Josue. Celebrating their 10th anniversaries are Maite West and Jose Navarro. The categories include talent, Q&A, eveningwear and swimwear. The theme for the pageant is Lucky 13, Las Vegas. Corrie Boyd and Laymon Rupe present Miss Showgirl Florida on Monday, January 25 at 9 p.m. at Progress Bar. The winner will receive $2000 in cash and prizes and will represent the state of Florida at Nationals in Ohio this June. The second annual Miss Gay Southernmost US of A & Classic pageant takes place on Saturday, January 30 at the San Carlos Institute (516 Duval Street, Key West). They invite you to come and watch some of the finest female impersonators in the country, while you enjoy their gorgeous tropical island. The red carpet and cocktail hour starts at 6 p.m. where photos will be taken and you will have the chance to meet former titleholders, with the pageant starting at 7 p.m. The theme of the evening is US of O Tour, and will be starring Mokha Montrese (Miss Gay US of A), Roxie Hart (Miss Gay US of A Classic and last year's Miss Gay Southernmost US of A Classic) and Nina D'Angelo (Miss Gay Southernmost US of A who was 2nd runner up at nationals). P&M Productions presents the first annual Miss Sunshine State FL F.I. in Miami on Monday, February 8th. Categories include presentation (Red), evening gown, swimsuit, talent and Q&A. For more info, email [email protected]
The Mister and Miss Pride South Florida Pageant, owned and operated by Latrice Royale, Inc., is a competition for female impersonators and male entertainers. Contestants will compete in five categories: creative presentation (with a "Show Your Pride" theme), swimsuit, talent, evening wear, and question and answer. The winners, decided upon by a nationally recognized panel of qualified judges, receive a stellar prize package to include a cash prize, a custom crown, and a contract with LRI Talent & Management. Cash prizes are also awarded to the winner of each category. This year, they celebrate the reign of MPSF 2015 Tanisha "The Divine" Cassadine with a "Diamonds Are Forever" theme. Alyson Thomas Productions presents the 17th annual Carolinas Continental Pageant, featuring Plus, Elite, Mister and Miss. Let's welcome the National Court to South Florida: Kofi, Miss Continental Plus; Chantel Reshae, Miss Continental Elite; Mykul J Valentine, Mr. Continental; and Tiffany T. Hunter, Miss Continental. The pageant will be held on Monday, February 22, at 8 p.m. at The Jazz Club at the Deauville Beach Resort (6701 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach). Tickets are $20 at the door.
